Mermaid Gin Will Be Your Go-to Beachy Boozy Sip All Summer Long
Believe it or not, there are a bunch of pink gin options out there — but do any of them take you under the sea? Not until now. Isle of Wight Distillery, situated on an island to the south of England, makes the Ariel-worthy sip.
Mermaid Gin has been around for a while, but its bottle got a magical upgrade this year. The 42% ABV small-batch London dry gin comes in a scaly bottle that gives off the prettiest blue hue. I’m personally not a fan of the word “Instagrammable,” but damn, this bottle is, in fact, Instagrammable.
“Locally foraged rock samphire and elderflower, fresh citrus zest from Sicilian lemons and grains of paradise are complemented by Boadicea hops grown in the local botanical gardens at Ventnor, English coriander from Sussex, orris root, angelica root, liquorish root, and juniper,” the description says. So basically, it’s a very British sip.

Less than a week ago, Isle of Wight Distillery announced its new Mermaid Pink Gin. The 38% ABV spirit is infused with local strawberries and consists of “a blend of lemon zest, grains of paradise, and fragrant rock samphire.” There’s no way we’ll be able to choose between the original and pink, so we’re down to try any and all mermaid-esque alcohol.
Sadly, it looks like the Mermaid Gin and Mermaid Pink Gin are only available on the island and mainland, as well as online, but it only ships within the United Kingdom. However, if you find yourself in the area (before it hopefully comes to the United States), each bottle is around $50.
So maybe we won’t be able to sip on these pretty gins any time soon, but at least we have this Mermaid Cereal, right?
